Lost Artist Ibiza

Christopher Stone has spent a lifetime resisting easy classification.

Painter, sculptor and maker, his work moves between materials with little regard for conventional boundaries. Paint, plaster, clay, resin, fibreglass, bronze and steel are not separate disciplines so much as different ways of pursuing an idea.

Stone's work can be playful, irreverent and deliberately unsettling. Humour sits comfortably beside more serious concerns, while recurring figures, animals, fragments of language and distorted forms create a visual vocabulary that is unmistakably his own.

He has little interest in explaining what the viewer should see. The work is allowed to speak for itself.

Lost Artist Studios, Ibiza, is both his working studio and the continuing archive of a practice developed over decades.
